Hello and welcome to my website! My name is Hugo Bec, I am a French computer science PhD on HPC and accelerated ray-tracing. I completed my Master’s in Computer Science, Image Synthesis and Graphic Design (ISICG) in Limoges with a final internship in Valdivia (Chile), where I gained invaluable experience in OptiX RTX and parallel computing. Today, I am doing a PhD for the CEA Cadarache in France to accelerate physics solvers that use ray-tracing in the nuclear fusion field, using Vulkan with accelerated RT GPU notably.
I have a deep passion for computer science in general since the first time I began to play video games. I more particularly have a really big interest in parallel computing and graphics computing because I think it is only at its beginning and there still are so many things to do and experiment in the video game world as much as the scientific world. Those passions heavily influence the projects I undertake.
On this website, you'll find a variety of projects that I've worked on. Thank you for visiting!
